She serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Schoene served in the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Program in the United States Air Force Reserve Medical Corps (Rank: Major).

Ann Marie Pearson is a retired veteran from Buffalo, NY. She served for 32 years in the military. Ann Marie served in the US Marine Corps (1979-1989), and the New York Army National Guard (1989-2012). She is currently a BFA student at SUNY Buffalo State and spends her free time helping those that served with her as a 9/11 first responder. Her husband, William Pearson also a 9/11 first responder, served in the US Marine Corps and the NYARNG.
