THE SCHOENE FOUNDATION

FOR 9/11 NYARNG FAMILY SUPPORT

Provides assistance to NYARNG members who were directly exposed to the toxic dust at ground zero, and their spouses and children who had secondary exposure through outreach, education, advocacy, and enrichment opportunities and activities.

The Schoene Foundation has assisted 9/11 first responders and others that were at ground zero in the following New York State communities - Alden, Allegany, Amherst, Arcade, Attica, Boston, Brooklyn, Buffalo, Canandaigua, Cheektowaga, Clarence Center, Collins, Delevan, Depew, Derny, Dunkirk, East Meadow, Fairpoint, Grand Island, Hamburg, Homer, Hurleyville, Jamestown, Kenmore, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lewiston, Lockport, Manhattan, Moravia, Newfane, Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, Tonawanda, Rochester, Sackets Harbor, Salamanca, Silvercreek, Staten Island, Strykersville, Syracuse, Tonawanda, Valley Falls, Warsaw, and West Seneca. We also have helped others who reside in Arizona, California, Florida, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

In order to assist these individuals, The Schoene Foundation may: (but is not limited to) provide financial assistance for well-being expenses such as:

• medical screenings

• mental health counseling

• medications/prescriptions

• natural remedies

• health-related physical aids

• transportation to medical treatments and visits

To bring awareness of the contribution, service, and sacrifice of the 9/11 NYARNG First Responders the The Schoene Foundation may sponsor documenting the history and promote healing through (but not limited to)

• 9/11 art exhibitions

• Monuments

• Remembrance Events

Additionally, The Schoene Foundation where appropriate and possible:

• place the individual in contact with medical professionals

• place the individual in contact with legal professionals

• place the individual in contact with government agencies

• place the individual with not-for-profit agencies

• advocate on behalf of the individual before appropriate authorities, both private and public

• provide any other assistance that The Schoene Foundation Board deems necessary and proper in a particular circumstance.

The Schoene Foundation reserves the right to determine on a case by case basis what assistance to provide in each particular case.
